Support with Vigils
What is a vigil, and how can we support each other at the end of life? There’s a shared belief that no one should have to die alone. Yet in hospitals or hospice settings, staff often juggle the care of multiple patients, leaving individuals alone during the active dying phase, with only brief check-ins.
I provide bedside support, whether alongside family and friends or when they can't be there, offering a compassionate presence so no one has to face their final moments alone. I create an environment that is meaningful to the dying, whether at home, in a hospital, or in hospice.
My services might include:
Offering education and resource support to help families feel informed and equipped throughout the vigil.
Offering respite for caregivers and loved ones, allowing them time to rest and recharge.
Providing non-medical interventions to support both the family and their loved one during the dying process.
Guided meditation, breathing exercises, or calming techniques to help ease anxiety and create a peaceful environment.
Offering emotional support to both the dying person and their family, providing a steady and reassuring presence during this difficult time
Sacred rituals or personalized ceremonies, such as lighting candles, reading meaningful passages, or playing favorite music, to honor the individual's life and provide comfort.
